Diana Roman Shaw

Diana Román Shaw is a counsel in O’Melveny’s Washington, DC office and a member of the White Collar Defense and Corporate Investigations Practice. Her practice focuses on criminal and civil litigation in federal and state courts as well as internal investigations and regulatory compliance counseling. Diana’s criminal experience includes conducting complex internal investigations and advising individuals and corporations facing inquiries from federal and foreign enforcement authorities. She also advises audit committees and independent directors of public companies in connection with complex and sensitive internal investigations. She recently represented a major international airline in a criminal antitrust investigation and negotiated a settlement with the United States government that represented a significant victory for the airline. She also represented the airline in parallel civil class actions involving air passenger and air cargo services.

Additionally, Diana represented a major oil company in a criminal EPA investigation, and advised a Special Litigation Committee in connection with a derivative action brought against a major for-profit university. She also has experience preparing clients to testify before the Securities Exchange Commission, and responding to civil investigative demands issued by the Federal Trade Commission.

Diana is currently representing a major insurance company in a federal case seeking significant damages for fraud, breach of contract, and intentional interference.

Diana is an active member of the O’Melveny community. She is the Chair of the Firm’s Los Angeles Office Associate & Counsel Advisory Committee, a group responsible for working with Firm management on issues of special concern to associates and counsel. She also is a member of the Women Attorneys’ Network.

Diana also runs a mock trial program for 7th and 8th grade students at the KIPP Academy of Opportunity, a high-performing public middle school in South Los Angeles servicing students from underserved communities in the area.

Diana also is a mentor with the Fulfillment Fund, a college access organization based in Los Angeles that provides first-generation, low-income students with the support necessary to graduate from high school and go to college.
