Dinesh Melwani concentrates his practice on structured finance transactions and general commercial transactions. As a member of Bingham’s Energy and Project Finance Group, he focuses on project finance matters as well as assisting equity investors, sponsors and lenders in all phases of the construction, development, financing, acquisition, and disposition of electric generation facilities and other infrastructure, including wind, solar and other alternative energy projects. His experience extends to merger and acquisition transactions involving electric generation facilities and portfolios of power production assets.

Dinesh is also a member of Bingham’s Mergers and Acquisitions and Emerging Growth Companies groups. He assists public, private and emerging growth companies in a range of matters, including mergers and acquisitions; asset and stock purchases; and sales, venture capital financings, commercial transactions and general corporate matters.

In 2007 and 2008, Dinesh lived in Japan while he was seconded to the in-house legal department of Mitsui & Co., Ltd., and the firm’s Tokyo office. While at Mitsui, he managed the legal affairs of Mitsui and its subsidiaries in North, Central and South America in a variety of industries, including energy and natural resources, agricultural resources, and information technology. He now provides valuable insights into the business culture and negotiating style of Japanese companies.

Dinesh speaks French and Sindhi fluently and is conversational in Hindi.
