Donald-Bruce Abrams is a co-leader of Bingham’s Tax Group. His practice is primarily devoted to advising corporations, partnerships and individuals on federal, state and international tax controversy and transactional tax planning matters.
His transactional practice includes providing advice to clients on the structuring and negotiation of mergers and acquisitions; equity and debt financing transactions; project finance; leveraged lease and structured finance transactions; transactions involving the structuring, formation and operation of specialized investment entities (including domestic and foreign hedge funds, regulated investment companies and real estate investment trusts); bankruptcy and restructuring transactions; spin-offs; and general operational matters.
Don’s controversy practice includes extensive representation of clients in federal and Massachusetts administrative and court proceedings. His experience also includes representing clients in obtaining administrative rulings from both the Internal Revenue Service and the Massachusetts Department of Revenue.
Don speaks frequently on topics relating to state, federal and international tax matters.
