Douglas F. Allen, Jr. is senior counsel in the Trusts & Estates practice group in the New York office of Seyfarth Shaw LLP. The current emphasis of Mr. Allen's practice is on sophisticated estate planning for high net worth individuals and families. He is also actively engaged in the general representation of tax-exempt organizations, with a primary emphasis on tax and contribution planning. He has extensive Surrogate's Court practice experience, representing executors, trustees, guardians and beneficiaries, in contested probate, administration and accounting proceedings, including trial and appellate work. He also has handled audit and appellate tax matters before the International Revenue Service and New York State Tax Commission in gift, estate and exempt organization tax matters. He has handled complex United States estate and income tax planning for nonresident alien individuals.
