Ed Dougherty is a principal in Dentons' global Health Care practice. He is an experienced reimbursement consultant with a more than 20-year track record in bringing innovative medical technology to market.
Ed helps clients develop and implement global commercialization strategies. He works with manufacturers of medical devices, molecular and other diagnostics, biologics, specialty pharma and combination products. He coordinates regulatory and commercial priorities and advises clients on developing robust evidence to secure broad coverage and value-based payment. In the US, he works closely with medical professional societies and interacts with Medicare, Medicaid and commercial payers. In the EU, he meets with thought leaders and health technology assessment committees in each country to obtain coverage and formulary placement for new products with government and private payers.
Prior to joining Dentons, Ed served as a senior advisor at Arent Fox, LLP. He has also chaired the health and life sciences practice at a global health policy consultancy and helped launch the post-market evidence development practice at a Fortune 40 health services company.
