Elan R. Kandel is an experienced insurance coverage attorney and focuses his practice on complex coverage matters arising under insurance policies issued to private equity firms and hedge funds involving directors & officers liability, professional liability, fiduciary liability and employment practices liability. Elan has extensive experience handling all aspects of claims arising under such policies, including bankruptcy adversary litigation, SEC investigations, limited and general partner disputes, breach of fiduciary duty claims, inadequate consideration claims and employment disputes involving high-level officers. Elan provides coverage analysis, litigation management and guidance to his clients in connection with such claims. In addition, Elan is also involved in policy drafting and endorsement review.

Elan earned his undergraduate degree from Tufts University, cum laude, and his law degree from Cardozo School of Law, where he was a notes editor of the Cardozo Journal of Conflict Resolution.
