Erez Tucner is a partner in the tax department advising on corporate, international and personal tax matters. Mr. Tucner works with clients on structuring and negotiating the tax aspects of domestic and cross-border mergers and acquisitions. He has extensive experience in advising clients on forming and structuring private equity funds and hedge funds and the funds' investments, and has been recently focusing on advising clients on the effect and implementation of FATCA. He also advises high net worth individuals on the tax aspects of structuring and holding their investments in US real property and on the tax aspects of and tax planning opportunities and risks of immigrating to or expatriating from the US. Mr. Tucner has considerable experience in tax audits and other tax controversy matters and has represented taxpayers before the Internal Revenue Service, the U.S. Tax Court, the New York State and other state tax authorities, as well as the New York State Tax Appeals Tribunal.
Mr. Tucner’s recent speaking engagements include a seminar presentation in Israel on US taxation issues and planning that affect non-US investors in US businesses and real property. In his most recent article, Mr. Tucner wrote on the effects of the recent US tax changes on Americans living abroad.
Mr. Tucner received his law degree and B.A. in Economics from the Haifa University in Israel and an LL.M. (Taxation) from the New York University School of Law. He is admitted to the Bars in New York and Israel.
