Erin E. Kelly is an Assistant United States Attorney at the U.S. Attorney's Office in Chicago. In addition to defending the United States against all varieties of civil claims, Ms. Kelly handles federal government investigations and lawsuits filed against companies and individuals who defraud federal programs. Before she joined the U.S. Attorney's Office, Erin was a partner in Sidley Austin LLP’s general litigation practice group. At Sidley, Ms. Kelly litigated a wide array of civil litigation matters, including class action lawsuits alleging violations of ERISA, litigation filed under the federal securities laws, patent disputes, and additional general commercial matters. Ms. Kelly has trial experience in federal court, Illinois state court, and has participated in AAA arbitrations and administrative proceedings. She received her B.A. from the University of Notre Dame in 1993 and her Juris Doctor from the Duke University School of Law in 1996.
