Erin G. Mehta focuses on complex intellectual property litigation matters, including all aspects of patent litigation. She has participated in every aspect of patent litigation from start to finish including pre-suit investigation, Markman, fact discovery, drafting expert reports, taking and defending depositions, managing document review and discovery disputes, motion practice, pre-trial preparations and trial. Her litigation practice encompasses a broad range of technologies, including mobile devices, integrated circuits, prepaid telephone call systems, web-based credit application management systems, digital picture frames, online photo sharing, automobile air bag sensors, GPS technologies and computer information storage systems. Additionally, Ms. Mehta has experience in patent prosecution before the USPTO, as well as due diligence relating to IP litigation, employment and license agreements in corporate matters.
Ms. Mehta also represents various clients in a pro bono capacity. For example, she has argued and won an appeal of a denial of social security benefits for a homeless woman and has successfully represented several refugees in obtaining grants of asylum before the Immigration Court and the Department of Homeland Security. She is currently representing a client in filing a petition through the Violence Against Women Act.
