Franklin is a member of the firm’s government, regulatory and criminal investigations department. His practice focuses on government investigations, internal investigations, complex commercial litigation, securities enforcement, and white collar criminal defense.
Franklin represents clients in government investigations by the SEC, DOJ, PCAOB, and various Offices of Inspectors General. He also assists clients in conducting internal investigations. His experience includes crafting subpoena responses; collecting, reviewing, and producing documents; preparing for and participating in witness interviews; defending SEC testimony; and preparing presentations to the government.
Franklin also defends clients in complex commercial litigation. He has experience managing fact investigations; overseeing document collections, reviews, and productions; engaging in privilege reviews; propounding and responding to discovery requests; and drafting disclosures, removal papers, confidentiality agreements, answers, and dispositive and non-dispositive motions.
Franklin’s representations have included litigation and investigations involving the False Claims Act (FCA), the FCC’s E-Rate program, foreclosure-related claims, accounting issues, class actions, data breaches and vulnerabilities, and securities laws, including the Securities Litigation Uniform Standards Act (SLUSA).
