One of the founding partners, G. Troy Pickett practices family and appellate law.

Troy went to high school in Bynum, Texas, where K-12 were all in one building and football was played with six on a side. He attended Baylor University and graduated from the University of Texas in Austin with two Bachelor's degrees.

After a career in the hospitality industry, Troy attended law school in Houston at South Texas College of Law.

At South Texas, Troy served as a Student Bar Association President. While serving as President, Troy was also serving as an editor for the prestigious South Texas Law Review. The two positions allowed him to interact with faculty and members of the legal community, to serve his fellow students and stay on the forefront of legal academics.

Troy passed the Texas Bar Exam—taken while still attending law school—and graduated with honors in May 2010 and was licensed to practice law in June of 2010 by the State of Texas. Together with Elaina Butel, they formed Butel & Pickett that same day.

Troy believes the legal profession is still an honorable one. A profession that allows one to make a difference in people's lives when they need it most. His dedication to his clients springs from that belief. His drive to succeed, evidenced by his achievements and his journey, paired with that dedication make him a very unique attorney.
