Gabriel H. Scannapieco

Gabe Scannapieco's practice covers a variety of litigation matters in federal and state courts. He has represented pharmaceutical manufacturers, international financial institutions, credit reporting services, electronics manufacturers, city governments, and numerous other corporate clients. His experience spans all phases of litigation, including all aspects of discovery, motion practice, oral argument, and trial. He also has represented clients in various alternative dispute proceedings.

Gabe's substantive experience includes a range of commercial litigation matters involving products liability, breach of contract, fraud and misrepresentation, the Fair Credit Reporting Act, the federal False Claims Act, Medicaid and Medicare fraud, professional malpractice, warranties and the U.C.C., and state consumer protection and deceptive trade practice acts.

Gabe also has an active pro bono practice including the successful representation of two asylum seekers before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit, two 41 U.S.C. § 1983 plaintiffs before the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, the successful representation of a Chicago public school student with a disabilities-related due process request, acting as the Chicago Office's coordinator for the Constitutional Rights Foundation Chicago's Lawyers in the Classroom program, and volunteering as an in-school mentor for the Working in the Schools (WITS) program.

Gabe is a member of the American Bar Association, the Illinois State Bar Association, and the American Cancer Society Associate Board of Ambassadors.
