Gary serves as the Managing Partner of the firm's Washington, D.C. office. Gary is a highly accomplished lawyer who represents insurance policyholders. He is a top choice by corporate policyholders for their insurance-related legal needs. For over two decades, he has amassed experience in all major lines of insurance, in both the first-party property and third-party liability insurance contexts. This includes policy reviews and renewals, claim advice and preparation, claim negotiation, mediation, arbitration and litigation. As a lead lawyer, Gary has achieved over one billion dollars in settlements for his clients and over $100 million in verdicts during the course of his 25 year career.

Gary is also dedicated to pro bono and community service, committing hundreds of hours annually on his own cases and in leading the Reed Smith D.C. office’s pro bono program. Gary’s volunteer work includes helping victims of disasters, obtaining health coverage for cancer treatments, plaintiff-side civil rights work, child custody matters, serving on three non-profit Boards and many other volunteer efforts.

Gary lives in Chevy Chase, D.C. with his wife Liz and three children. He is a publicly-elected “Advisory Neighborhood Commissioner.” Gary is also an avid marathon runner.
