Gina M. Torielli is a Senior Counsel in Dykema's Ann Arbor office. Ms. Torielli's practice centers in taxation and public finance, and in that capacity she has advised many nonprofit organizations and governmental entities on issues relating to tax exemption, tax-exempt financing and state and federal tax issues.

Ms. Torielli was the director of the Graduate (LL.M.) Tax Program and professor from 2004-2014 at the Thomas M. Cooley Law School. While a tenured professor, she taught courses on federal tax practice and procedure, standards and ethics of tax practice, and tax exempt organizations courses in the Graduate Tax Program. Professor Torielli’s scholarship was an effort to provide guidance to practitioners on the intricacies of federal tax exemption for municipal bonds and the ethical standards of federal tax practice. She maintained a strong connection to practice, serving as Chair of the State Bar Taxation Section, and as a consultant to Dykema for nine years on issues relating to the taxation of municipal bonds.

Prior to that she practiced for seven years at a prominent Michigan firm of more than 90 attorneys. In 1998, Ms.Torielli was elected as President and CEO of that firm, and served a five year term as the first woman managing partner of a major Michigan law firm.
