Gladys Pérez is a partner in Shutts & Bowen's Miami office, where she is a member of the Class Action and Mass Litigation Defense Practice Group. She focuses her practice on mass litigation insurance defense matters.

Immediately prior to joining the firm, Ms. Pérez served as a County Court Judge for the Eleventh Judicial Circuit. Prior to her judicial appointment, she was a sole practitioner, concentrating on judicial and executive branch appeals, legislative claims, and general civil litigation. Ms. Pérez served as Assistant General Counsel to Governors Jeb Bush and Charlie Crist and General Counsel to the Florida Land and Water Adjudicatory Commission and the Administration Commission. She also served as Assistant Attorney General in the Office of Civil Rights.

Upon graduation from law school, Ms. Pérez entered private practice, prior to joining the Fourth District Court of Appeal. She served the court for more than five years as Senior Staff Attorney to the Honorable Carole Y. Taylor.

Ms. Pérez taught at the University of Miami, Division of Continuing and International Education. And, during her tenure on the bench, she was a member of the civil faculty for statewide education of county court judges.
