Glenn Westreich is a litigation partner in the firm's Silicon Valley office. He has more than 30 years of experience representing technology companies in trials in the federal and state courts and International Trade Commission.
Glenn has represented clients in litigation involving a broad range of issues, including patent, copyright and trademark infringement, trade secrets, bankruptcy, and general commercial litigation.
Representative recent matters include the following:
Prosecution of patent infringement cases involving electronic devices, search and catalogue aggregation software, plasma etch reactors for semiconductor fabrication systems, and digital scanning technology.
Defense of patent infringement and trade secret misappropriation cases involving digital editing and transmission of images, electronic books, optical endpoint detection systems, integrated circuits and related software, and underground cable locators.
Prosecution and defense of breach of contract claims regarding provision of Internet services totaling more than $200 million.
Counseling and enforcement of patent portfolios in the areas of search technology, online advertising, and digital media.
Glenn was selected for inclusion in Northern California Super Lawyers, 2011-2012.
Speeches and Publications
Glenn is a frequent speaker on patent and technology issues. Recent addresses include presentations at the Advanced Patent Law Institute and IP Counsel Summit in Silicon Valley. In December 2010, Glenn moderated a panel titled "Patent Defense 2.0; New Models in Patent Disputes" at the Advanced Patent Law Institute in Palo Alto, CA.
