Grace L. Pan

Grace L. Pan is a New York intellectual property attorney and litigator who practices on matters before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office involving federal patents, copyrights and trademarks. She represents clients from the U.S., Japan, Taiwan and China. Ms. Pan is experienced in enforcing and defending patents, trademarks and trade dress before the International Trade Commission (ITC), various U.S. District Courts and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit in biotechnology, medical, organic chemistry, electronic, semiconductor, mechanical and related technical fields.

She also counsels clients in licensing freedom-to-operate opinions and assists clients with contract manufacturing organization (CMO), contract development and manufacturing organization (CDMO) and contract research organization (CRO) negotiations and agreements. She also obtains, defends and licenses patents, copyrights, trademarks and domain name applications, including those involving Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) proceedings. Grace is fluent in Japanese, Mandarin Chinese and Taiwanese, and has broad experience in all phases of Japanese litigation both before the Tokyo District Courts and the Tokyo High Court. She defends foreign patents in Japan and Taiwan, and has argued before trial examiners at the Japan Patent Office, Tokyo High Court and Taiwan Taipei District Court. She is also admitted as a Gaikokuho Jimu Bengoshi, a registered foreign lawyer, in Japan, is a member of the Daini Bengoshi Kai, the Tokyo Bar Association and is admitted to practice in Taiwan as a registered foreign lawyer.

In addition, Ms. Pan has experience in polymer chemistry, recombinant technology, molecular biology, herbicides, pharmaceutical compositions and formulations, vaccines, organic and inorganic compounds, medical devices, semiconductor-related technology, consumer electronics, DVD, Blu-Ray® technology and mechanical devices. Her litigation experiences principally are in the semiconductor, chemistry, biotechnology, electronic and mechanical fields.
