Gregory Miller

Gregory Miller is Of Counsel in the San Francisco office of Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati, where his practice focuses on digital media and entertainment, and renewable energy and sustainability technologies. Gregory has over 15 years of prior law firm experience representing early- to mid-stage companies or their investors, including as a partner with Gunderson Dettmer LLP, and as Of Counsel with Latham & Watkins in San Francisco. He has led and closed over 100 private and public company transactions, including venture financings, public stock offerings (more than $3.8 billion), acquisitions (more than $2.5 billion), and debt financings (more than $13.5 billion).

Until 2009, Gregory was with Google, where he helped launch Google.org, and built and led its investments, grants, and legal teams. At Google.org, he led over 100 investments in for-profit companies and non-profit organizations, and helped develop internal programs addressing climate change, economic development, and global public health. Also at Google, he was the legal lead and chair of the investments committee of the separate Google Foundation, launched and was the initial chair of the company-wide Charitable Giving Council, and was selected for the company's Advanced Leadership Labs executive program. Gregory led production of The Final Inch, a Google.org film documenting modern polio eradication efforts in India and Pakistan. The Final Inch was nominated for a 2009 Academy Award for Best Documentary (Short Subject), and won the 2009 Pare Lorentz Award for global impact from the International Documentary Association.

Himself an entrepreneur, Gregory is a co-founder of Spacebar, an iOS application built to support emerging musicians by enabling a free, high-quality live audio stream for their shows. He was also on the launch team of Cometa Networks, one of the first companies to attempt a business model around then-new Wi-Fi broadband technology.
