Kevin Cogan is an experienced trial lawyer having represented clients in complex civil litigation in state, federal, and bankruptcy courts throughout the United States. His litigation experience includes corporate control contests and shareholder disputes, securities fraud, insurance coverage disputes, environmental litigation, real estate controversies, and disputes relating to asset and stock purchase agreements.
Kevin was a member of the defense team representing Cardinal Health in its securities litigation. He successfully defended Buckeye Egg Farm, one of the nation's leading egg producers, in a class action relating to Buckeye Egg's use of beneficial insects to control nuisance insects. He was co-trial counsel in the case of Atlantic Richfield Company, et al. v. Alcan Aluminium Holdings Ltd., an action tried in the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York. Kevin successfully defended Diagnostic Imaging Associates of Ohio, a central Ohio radiology provider, and its chief executive officer, in an eight-day jury trial against claims of fraud and breach of fiduciary duty. He was the lead trial counsel in a water rights case challenging Akron's use of the Cuyahoga River.
Governor John Kasich appointed Kevin as a member of the Ohio Lake Erie Commission. Kevin served as special counsel to Ohio Attorney General Jim Petro and currently serves as special counsel to Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine. He is a Franklin County Commissioner appointee to, and is the immediate past-President of, the Board of Trustees of the Franklin Park Conservatory. Kevin serves on the Executive Committee of the Franklin County Republican Party.
