Jason Link practices intellectual property law with a focus on patent preparation and prosecution, patent litigation and intellectual property issues associated with transactions. The case included claims of patent infringement and trademark infringement based on patents and trademarks owned by the manufacturer, and settled favorably for our client. Patent litigation for Ring Industrial Group, The firm served as lead counsel on behalf of Ring Industrial Group L.P. in an action against a competitor of its patented drainage products. After obtaining sanctions for discovery-related issues, a favorable settlement was achieved for RING that protected its intellectual property rights at a court-ordered mediation. Meridian Enterprises Corp. v. DaimlerChrysler Corp., The firm served as lead counsel on behalf of DaimlerChrysler Corporation, BBDO Detroit, Inc., and BBDO Worldwide, Inc. in this case in which Meridian Enterprises Corporation alleged infringement of U.S. Patent No. 5,025,372. After completion of significant discovery and briefing on claim construction issues, the parties resolved the dispute just prior to the Markman hearing. The court entered an order granting a stipulation of dismissal filed by the parties in September 2006.
