J. Michael Martinez De Andino

Mike advises companies and organizations on how to protect their valuable intellectual property rights. When clients believe that their patent or other IP rights have been infringed or allegations of infringement arise, Mike works with clients to analyze the situation, assess the extent of potential infringement or damages, and to develop and implement an effective response. In addition to litigation, and when appropriate, Mike investigates and recommends alternative solutions to assist in resolving disputes, including settlements and negotiation of licenses.

Mike’s practice includes all aspects of intellectual property law; including opinion writing, patent prosecution, due diligence investigations and audits. He regularly counsels clients concerning intellectual property issues in structuring deals and drafting agreements, negotiations for enforcing their intellectual property rights and developing programs to deter counterfeit goods.

Mike has been admitted to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office since 1993 and the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit since 1995. He serves as co-chair of Hunton & Williams’ firmwide Diversity Committee.
