Bill is chair of the firm's Business and Securities Litigation Department. He has served on the firm’s Strategic Planning Committee, its Associates Committee and was formerly the firm’s pro bono partner. He focuses his practice on complex commercial cases for leading financial institutions, especially class actions in the consumer financial services area. In addition, he has extensive experience in securities claims, False Claims Act litigation, and electronic discovery.

Most recently, his cases have involved foreclosure-related class actions; Department of Justice, regulatory agency and State Attorneys General investigations; healthcare related litigation; and qui tam actions.

Bill has served as chair of the commercial litigation section of the Virginia Association of Defense Attorneys, and as a board member and chair of the Board of Editors of the Journal of Civil Litigation. He was a member of the Central Virginia Legal Aid Society Board, and served as board president, and is past president and a founder of Christmas in April-Richmond (now Rebuilding Together).
