James (Jay) Healy, of counsel in Winston & Strawn LLP’s Chicago office, focuses his practice on commercial real estate matters. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Healy was transactions counsel with Ventas, Inc., a leading, publicly-traded health care real estate investment trust, where he assisted the company with its acquisitions, development, leasing, financing, and other transactional activities related to health care real estate. Prior to that, he was a real estate associate at regional and global law firms in Chicago, where he assisted clients with a wide array of commercial real estate matters throughout the country, including acquisitions and dispositions, leasing, financing, and development of industrial, retail, and office real estate.

Mr. Healy received his B.A. in Psychology, magna cum laude, from the University of West Florida in May 1998. He received his J.D., summa cum laude, from DePaul University College of Law in May 2002, where he was a member of Order of the Coif, Law Review, and Moot Court and received nine CALI Excellence for the Future Awards. In law school, Mr. Healy was a judicial extern to the Honorable William J. Bauer, U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit.
