Jana began her career in 1997 as a law clerk for U.S. District Judge John D. Rainey in Victoria and Houston, Texas. Through tenures with McKool Smith, Baker Hostetler, and Greenberg Traurig, Jana gained litigation experience before courts in Dallas, Houston, and Austin and represented business clients in matters ranging from employment discrimination cases to a $60 million fraudulent transfer lawsuit. In 2012, Jana opened The Law Office of Jana Terry, PLLC. In 2014, she joined with her long-time friend, Amy Beckstead, to form Beckstead Terry PLLC.

Jana’s practice is focused on real estate, employment, and commercial litigation matters. She has handled a wide range of litigation matters, including employment discrimination claims, commercial real estate disputes, business debt collection and judgment enforcement cases, and many breach of contract matters. Jana’s practice benefits from her past experience managing a nationwide docket for a Fortune 25 global healthcare company. She is licensed in Texas.

Jana is active with the Austin Bar Association and is a board member of Mother Attorneys Mentoring Association (MAMA’s) – Austin. Jana is a past board member of Texas Women Lawyers and the Travis County Women Lawyers’ Association (TCWLA). For service to the TCWLA, she received the President’s Award. Jana is a past participant in the Robert Calvert Inn of Court, the Austin Bar Association’s Leadership Academy and Leadership Austin’s “Experience Austin” program.

Jana grew up in Dallas, Texas and West Des Moines, Iowa. She attended Texas A&M University, graduating with honors. She then attended The University of Chicago Law School, where she graduated with honors and was a member of The University of Chicago Law Review.
