Jane Dueker is an Of Counsel in Spencer Fane's Governmental Affairs and Litigation practice groups.
Dueker’s practice is uniquely informed by her previous roles as Assistant Attorney General, Chief Legal Counsel and Chief of Staff to the Governor of Missouri. In the Attorney General’s Office, Dueker provided general counsel and litigation representation to statewide elected officials as well as many of the State’s Executive Departments. While in the Governor’s office, Dueker was responsible for overseeing the management of state government and Missouri’s budget along with supervising daily operations in the Governor’s office including various appointments of position, legislative and legal affairs, policy development and implementation, and media relations.
Following her gubernatorial service, Dueker returned to private practice focusing on governmental affairs, media and commercial litigation. Dueker brings extensive bench and jury trial experience in which she has represented clients across a wide range of industries in general and complex litigation. She has argued before many of the state’s circuit courts, the Missouri Courts of Appeals and the Missouri Supreme Court. She has also given a briefing before the United States Supreme Court.
In addition to her law practice, Dueker is also an active leader in the St. Louis community. She is a regular host and political analyst for local news radio, KMOX, and is immediate past president of the Board for the Foster and Adoptive Care Coalition. She is also a member of several industry organizations and associations.
Dueker has been recognized as one of The Best Lawyers in America and has received numerous industry accolades for her professional accomplishments including a Women’s Justice Award from the St. Louis Daily Record, a “Top Ten Lawyers of the Year” award from Missouri Lawyers Weekly and St. Louis Business Journal’s 40 Under 40 recognition.
Dueker earned her Juris Doctorate from St. Louis University and her undergraduate degree from the University of Missouri Kansas City.
