Jared F. Bartie

Jared Bartie focuses his practice on complex sports, entertainment and media transactions. He has more than two decades of sports and media experience as both an attorney and business executive.

Jared's extensive legal, management, operations and administration experience includes: serving as Chief Legal Officer and General Counsel to the United States Tennis Association; serving as Vice President of the NBA's renowned Team Marketing & Business Operations (TMBO) group where he advised nine NBA clubs regarding revenue enhancement strategies; working within the front office of the NBA Charlotte Bobcats where he held the role of Chief Administrative Officer & General Counsel; and serving as Executive Vice President and General Counsel of World Wrestling Entertainment, Inc. (WWE).

Jared counsels sports clients on a variety of matters including, sports team investments, naming rights and sponsorship transactions, media rights agreements, arena operating agreements, food and beverage agreements, merchandise agreements, ticketing arrangements, suite licenses and front office, coach and player agreements.

Jared's notable transactions include: representing the NBA's Portland Trailblazers in a naming rights transaction for the Moda Center; representing an investor in a bid to acquire the NHL's New Jersey Devils; representing an investor in a bid to acquire the NHL's New York Islanders; representing a minority investor group in a bid to acquire the NBA's Atlanta Hawks; representing a global consumer apparel company in a global sponsorship transaction with a major US professional sports league; and representing the NBA's Utah Jazz in a naming rights transaction for the Vivint Smart Home Arena.

Jared also advises entertainment and media clients regarding live event matters, talent negotiations, executive employment agreements, content acquisitions, development and production matters, cable, broadcast and theatrical distribution agreements, digital media matters, consumer products agreements, advertising and marketing agreements, and various publishing related matters.
