Jason Koral is a partner in the Firm's Litigation department. Mr. Koral joined Kronish Lieb Weiner & Hellman LLP in 2003, which was merged into Cooley Godward Kronish LLP in 2006. He is resident in the New York office.
Mr. Koral is experienced in handling a variety of complex commercial disputes. He has represented a number of companies and individuals in federal civil and criminal securities litigation, SEC investigations, and state court derivative law suits; he also counsels companies on corporate governance matters. He also has successfully represented clients in real estate matters, including disputes involving contractual disputes, construction, zoning, and commercial leases. Other areas of expertise include intellectual property litigation, professional negligence claims (including cliams against audit firms) and power plant construction disputes.
He has represented clients in state and federal courts nationwide, at the trial and appellate level, as well as in a variety of alternate dispute resolution proceedings. Mr. Koral has represented large corporations, small businesses and individuals, with a particular focus on media and internet companies. Prior to joining the Firm, Mr. Koral was an associate in the capital markets department of Shearman & Sterling LLP.
Mr. Koral received his JD, cum laude, from Harvard Law School in 1997, and a Master's degree in Public Policy from the John F. Kennedy School of Government, also in 1997. He obtained his BA, magna cum laude, from Yale University in 1993.
Mr. Koral is admitted to practice in the states of New York and Massachusetts and has been admitted to practice before the following courts: the U.S. District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York, the Eastern District of Michigan, and the U.S. Court of Appeals, Second Circuit.
