Jason Wiley, a member of the firm's Litigation practice group, represents clients in a wide range of commercial matters in both state and federal courts.
He has extensive trial experience litigating disputes involving such varied areas as employment agreements, title insurance, post judgment collections, landlord/tenant controversies, and copyright infringement and other intellectual property matters.
Jason has also negotiated and drafted a number of commercial contracts and has assisted clients in Chapter 11 reorganization matters.
Prior to joining the firm, Jason was in private practice at another Las Vegas area firm.
Lead counsel for a number of Nevada entities subject to subpoenas issued by a New York hedge fund as part of the hedge fund's collection proceeding against The Republic of Argentina. Participated in multiple evidentiary hearings to determine the applicability of the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure to the subpoenas at issue.
Successfully represented a major Las Vegas mixed-use development in two separate actions against trade unions. Development was awarded injunctive relief in both matters enjoining the unions from conducting demonstrations contrary to First Amendment protections.
Lead trial counsel in obtaining a preliminary injunction for a trade show freight forwarding client seeking to enjoin a former employee from working for a competing venture pursuant to the terms and conditions of an employment agreement.
Trial counsel in a title insurance litigation in which client entered into loan transactions secured by certain real property where owner of property alleges fraud.
Counsel for an Alaska-based entity specializing in unmanned aerial crafts (drones) seeking to expand its operations to Nevada. Worked in concert with governmental authorities to approve the use of unmanned aerial crafts in the jurisdiction.
Obtained a dismissal for multiple clients facing copyright infringement claims alleged by the Las Vegas Review-Journal on the grounds that assignment of the copyright violated applicable U.S. Code.
Negotiated and drafted a licensing and use agreement allowing an IT client to implement wireless services to a major hotel chain's properties throughout the country.
Negotiated, brokered and drafted a merger and acquisition agreement between a Nevada corporation and Japanese entity which allowed for the marketing and sale of certain fitness equipment in the United States. Provided counsel in a litigation centering on the infringement of the company's intellectual property by a former employee.
Drafted and revised a number of commercial contracts/sales contracts for a long-time client who provides production resources to various Las Vegas theaters and concert halls.
