Jason Huff is a partner in King & Spalding’s Global Finance practice, resident in the firm’s Charlotte office. He has wide-ranging experience in financial transactions. His practice is concentrated primarily on representing lenders and lessors in all aspects of equipment finance with an emphasis on business aircraft and rail equipment.
Mr. Huff has substantial experience structuring, documenting and negotiating all types of equipment financing transactions, including:
Lease agreements (true/tax motivated, leveraged, finance and synthetic)
Secured and unsecured financings
Progress payment financings/green aircraft financings
Syndicated and single-bank credit facilities
Lease and loan portfolio acquisitions and sales
Cross-border transactions
Mr. Huff’s expertise includes regulatory matters and collateral filings under the Uniform Commercial Code issues, Federal Aviation Administration, state vehicle titling laws, Surface Transportation Board, various foreign civil aviation authorities, Coast Guard’s National Vessel Documentation Center, Cape Town Convention, and International Registry of Mobile Assets.
In addition to aircraft and rail equipment, Mr. Huff regularly represents clients regarding the financing of manufacturing, construction equipment, medical equipment, trucks, trailers, containers and other types of equipment. He also advises clients in syndicated and single-investor transactions, including portfolio purchases, sales and assignments, participation and equipment portfolio administration.
Mr. Huff holds a Bachelor of Arts from the College of William & Mary and a Juris Doctorate from Wake Forest University. He is a member of the American Bar Association and the North Carolina Bar Association.
