He also achieved a settlement of $8 million for a woman in case in which doctors and hospital employees failed to timely diagnose a valvulus (twisting of the intestine) in a woman which cased multiple surgeries and hospitalizations and the need for an intestinal transplant. Among other types of cases he has managed include a successful lawsuit brought against Chrysler regarding a negligently designed gas tank in one of its vans causing a fire that resulted in the death of a mother and her two children, and a case against a landlord and construction company following a building collapse in Manhattan. During that multi-party litigation, Mr. Bloom was appointed by the Court as the lead counsel, representing all injured parties in the accident. Mr. Bloom is also a highly regarded attorney in the area of legal malpractice and has handled several substantial legal malpractice matters including one recently in which he achieved a $4.5 million settlement in a involving a woman whose lawyer failed to file the proper paperwork with the court when she had a claim against her doctor for failing to properly treat her brain tumor.
