Jeffrey practices in the firm's complex commercial litigation department and has handled matters in state and federal court at the trial and appellate levels. In particular, he has handled disputes involving complex constitutional issues, as well as tort, contract, and antitrust claims. His experience includes representing clients in commercial disputes, class actions and multidistrict (MDL) litigation.
He also has extensive experience with handling appellate matters, including matters on appeal to the U.S. Supreme Court, the U.S. Courts of Appeals, and the Supreme Court of Virginia, as well as appeals from administrative agencies in Virginia circuit court and the Court of Appeals of Virginia. He has argued before the Supreme Court of Virginia and before several Virginia circuit courts that hear administrative appeals.
Prior to joining the firm, Jeffrey clerked for the Honorable C. Arlen Beam on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 8th Circuit and as an intern for Justice Elizabeth B. Lacy, Supreme Court of Virginia.
While earning his law degree from the University of Richmond, Jeffrey was awarded the William S. Cudlipp and J. Westwood Smithers Medals, was honored as a member of the McNeill Law Honor Society, was a finalist in the Carrico Moot Court competition, and was elected to the Executive Board of the Richmond Law Review as annual survey editor.
