Jeffrey W. Morof

Jeffrey Morof has practiced aviation product liability litigation for more than 33 years. He has served as national counsel for McDonnell Douglas Corporation, a manufacturer of commercial and military aircraft and aerospace products, and Teledyne Continental Motors, a manufacturer of piston engines for general aviation aircraft. He was a member of the trial team that successfully defended the aircraft manufacturer in a 20-month jury trial arising out of the crash of Northwest Airlines Flight 255 near Detroit, Mich.

Mr. Morof also counsels clients on certifying their products, developing crisis management programs, participating in accident investigations and safety audits, and contractually limiting their liability exposure. He was an instructor for a course on liability prevention and risk management that was a required part of Douglas Aircraft Company’s Aircraft System Engineer/Manager Certification Program. In 1998 and 2001, he was selected by the United States District Court, Central District of California, to serve as a settlement conference attorney for the court. In 2001, Mr. Morof was one of 170 U.S. attorneys selected for inclusion in An International Who’s Who of Product Liability Defense Lawyers (3rd edition). In 2002, he was selected to appear in The International Who’s Who of Business Lawyers. In 2003, Mr. Morof was one of only 25 aviation lawyers worldwide included in Euromoney’s Expert Guide, The Best of the Best 2003. Also, since 1998 he has been selected for each edition of Euromoney Legal Publications Group’s Guide to the World’s Leading Aviation Lawyers.
