Jennifer D. Arkowitz

Jennifer Arkowitz focuses her practice on trademark and copyright law, handling a broad range of matters including selection, clearance and prosecution. Ms. Arkowitz helps companies protect their brands by developing global brand procurement and enforcement strategies and helps to educate clients, from product managers to executive teams to in-house counsel, about the importance of protecting trademarks and how do to so in an efficient and cost-effective manner. She has experience in strengthening existing marks through creative strategies and in addressing and preventing infringement in the marketplace. Ms. Arkowitz also advises clients on matters related to counterfeit products, licensing, domain names, and social media. She has experience in a variety of industries and technologies, including consumer electronic products, computer software and hardware, e-commerce, telecommunications, sports/energy food and beverage products, wine and alcohol, fitness equipment, medical devices and pharmaceuticals, clothing and apparel, children’s products, biotechnology, and building construction.

While in law school, Ms. Arkowitz competed in the 2003 Saul Lefkowitz Moot Court Competition in trademark and unfair competition law. She won the National Championship as well as Best Oral Advocate and Best Brief in the Western Regional competition.

Prior to attending law school, Ms. Arkowitz was a research analyst for Congressional and Gubernatorial races in Washington, DC. She was also a legislative liaison for the Arizona Department of Economic Security and worked for the Arizona Legislature.

Ms. Arkowitz received Lexology’s Client Choice Guide - International 2013 Award in the Intellectual Property: Trademarks category for California. In 2013 and 2014, she was recognized as an "IP Star" and in 2013, she was named one of the "Top 10 IP Stars of the Top 250 Women in IP" by Managing Intellectual Property magazine. Ms. Arkowitz was recognized as a 2013 and 2014 Northern California “Rising Star” for Intellectual Property by Super Lawyers magazine. In 2014, Ms. Arkowitz was recommended by Legal 500 US for Non-Contentious Trademark Law.
