Jennifer Filippazzo is a partner in the law firm of McDermott Will & Emery LLP and is based in the Firm’s New York office. She focuses her practice on civil litigation, and the defense of product liability, negligence and mass tort litigation.

Jennifer also serves as regional coordinator on a national coordinating counsel team representing a major firm client in their mass tort litigation. She oversees and manages the docket of claims filed in the Southeast region of the United States, handling all aspects of the litigation including fact investigation; settlement negotiations; trial preparation and strategy. Jennifer regularly handles matters and trials in New York and Pennsylvania, many of these claims involve wrongful death cases with significant medical and scientific issues. She has developed an area of specialty in the defense of Fortune 500 companies and other corporate entities involved in mass tort litigation.

With a B.A. in biology and a M.P.H. in public health, Jennifer brings a unique base of knowledge, experience and perspective to McDermott and the practice of mass tort litigation and product liability. This core education along with previous experience at a publicly traded company provides a solid foundation for Jennifer to serve as a resource to clients and local counsel in discussing both pre-trial strategy and trial themes.

Jennifer is admitted to practice in Connecticut, Pennsylvania and New York, and before the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York. She is a member of the American Bar Association Tort Trial and Insurance Practice Section and the National Association of Women Lawyers. Jennifer was nominated and accepted to ABA TIPS Leadership Academy for 2012-2013. She serves on the American Bar Association Tort Trial and Insurance Practice Section Continuing Legal Education Committee and serves as Vice-Chair of the Products General Liability and Consumer Law Committee. Jennifer is a member of McDermott’s Gender Diversity Committee.
