Jennifer M. McHugh

Jennifer M. McHugh returned to the firm in January 2006 after having been appointed deputy insurance commissioner for the Pennsylvania Insurance Department by the governor of Pennsylvania. She served as deputy from March 2004 to March 2005, where she was responsible for the day-to-day administration of the Mcare Fund.

Jennifer concentrates her practice in the areas of commercial litigation, professional liability, medical malpractice, insurance, real estate litigation, gaming, white collar defense, and other general civil litigation and administrative matters. Her cases have included matters pending in state and federal court.

Jennifer has been active in the Pennsylvania Bar Association's Commission on Women in the Profession since 1996. She has served as the Commission's chair and co-chair, co-chair of the Quality of Life Committee, been a member of the Commission's Executive Council, and is a member of the Commission's Awards Committee. Jennifer was also a member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association's Technology Taskforce, and a former chair and vice-chair of the Quality of Life Task Force. In her vice-chair role of the Quality of Life Task Force, Jennifer, along with members of the Philadelphia Bar Association Committee on Women in the Profession and the Pennsylvania Bar Association Commission on Women in the Profession, was successful in having the Board of Governors of the Pennsylvania Bar Association adopt model policies for alternative work arrangements. She has been a member of the Louis J. Goffman Award Committee of the Pennsylvania Bar Foundation since 2006, and has served as chair since 2009. She was also a former delegate for Zone 1 of the House of Delegates for the Pennsylvania Bar Association from 2002-2007.

Jennifer earned her Bachelor of Arts from Duke University in 1988 and her law degree from The Dickinson School of Law of The Pennsylvania State University in 1992.
