Jeremy Close's practice focuses on representation of institutional clients in all aspects of commercial litigation in state and federal courts. He has handled complex legal matters for many industry leaders such as El Pollo Loco, Experian, Land O' Lakes, R.J. Reynolds, and Wells Fargo Bank. He has been mentored by several of the most distinguished lawyers in Orange County, and he continues the tradition of dedicated service that clients have come to expect from Jones Day.
Jeremy is a member of the State Bar of California, the Orange County Bar Association, and the Association of Business Trial Lawyers. He also continues to volunteer as a moot court judge at UCLA School of Law where, as a law student, he served on the executive board of the moot court honors program, and represented UCLA in the Witkin Institute's 2008 Roger J. Traynor California Appellate Moot Court competition, winning the California Academy of Appellate Lawyers Award for Best Brief and the Bernard E. Witkin Award for Excellence in Appellate Advocacy, awarded to the team with the highest combined score in the written brief and oral argument competitions.
Prior to practicing law, Jeremy developed extensive experience in the insurance industry as a claims professional, negotiating favorable casualty settlements on behalf of a major national insurer.
