Joe Sims is one of the most recognized antitrust lawyers in the world. He is listed in Chambers, Who's Who Legal, Legal 500, Best Lawyers of America, and most other publications recognizing prominent antitrust lawyers. He is the only antitrust lawyer ever named by The American Lawyer as a "Dealmaker of the Year," and has been so recognized twice, in 2001 and 2009. In March 2010, he was recognized by The National Law Journal as one of "The Decade's Most Influential Lawyers," and was most recently named the Washington, DC Antitrust Lawyer of the Year by Best Lawyers of America. He is one of four U.S. lawyers included in Expert Guides Best of the Best compilation of the 30 leading antitrust/competition law lawyers in the world.

Joe represents clients in the full range of antitrust counseling and litigation matters. He has especially broad experience in dealing with mergers and acquisitions and has acted as lead antitrust counsel on some of the most significant transactions of recent years. Representative recent clients include Abbott Laboratories, AMR, Apple, Cardinal, CBS, Chevron, DIRECTV, Essilor, General Motors, Hertz, Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN), Intuit, Procter & Gamble, Reynolds-American, Sirius-XM, and Texas Instruments.

Joe is admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court and a majority of the federal courts of appeal. He is a member of the American Bar Association, a Fellow of the American Bar Foundation, and a member of The American Law Institute.
