Joe Kanada is an associate in the firm’s Intellectual Property and Securities Litigation, Enforcement, and White-Collar Defense Groups. His practice focuses on patent infringement cases and shareholder class-action defense, and includes work in industries involving consumer electronics, semiconductors and other hardware components, security software, and chemical compounds. Mr. Kanada also maintains an active pro bono practice, having represented inmates, arrestees, and foster care children in civil rights matters.

Mr. Kanada has drafted dispositive motions such as demurrers, motions to dismiss, and motions for summary judgment, as well as settlement-related documents such as memoranda of understanding and settlement agreements. He has also managed large discovery teams, taken and defended depositions, worked with expert witnesses, argued discovery motions and represented pro bono clients at jury trials and administrative hearings.

Mr. Kanada earned his J.D. from Yale Law School in 2007. He earned a B.A. in economics with honors from Stanford University in 2003.
