John Anaipakos is a trial lawyer and partner in the litigation department in the Houston office of Baker Botts. Mr. Anaipakos has tried a wide range of cases to verdict, including oil and gas, professional liability, employment, catastrophic injury/death and complex business disputes. He regularly represents clients in the energy industry, including regulated utilities, exploration and production companies, power generators and marketing companies. In addition to his jury trial work, Mr. Anaipakos has also tried cases before judges, arbitrators and administrative tribunals. He has argued appeals in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit and the Texas Supreme Court, as well as the Houston, Waco and El Paso Courts of Appeals.

Mr. Anaipakos served as head of the litigation department in Houston from 2007-2011 and as hiring partner for the Houston office from 2005-2007. He joined Baker Botts in 1994 after a one-year clerkship with Judge Edith Jones of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. Mr. Anaipakos received his law degree cum laude from Harvard Law School in 1993, where he was an editor on the Harvard Law Review. A native of El Paso, Mr. Anaipakos is fluent in Spanish.

Mr. Anaipakos is a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates and is Board Certified in Civil Trial Law and Personal Injury Trial Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. He is listed in The Best Lawyers in America, 2013-2014, recognized by Chambers USA, 2007-2014, and recognized as a Texas Super Lawyer since 2003.
