John Thornburgh is a Principal in the Southern California office of Fish & Richardson P.C. Mr. Thornburgh spent one year in 1995-96 at the French/European intellectual property office, Cabinet Hirsch. Mr. Thornburgh has significant experience managing cases, serving as primary client contact, conducting direct and cross examinations before judge and jury, seeking and opposing TROs/preliminary injunctions, seeking and opposing summary judgment, arguing frequently in court, taking and defending numerous depositions (including inventors and experts), participating in ADR, negotiating and drafting settlement agreements and licenses, handling appeals (including Federal Circuit), and drafting opinions; forums include N.D. Cal., ITC, Del., E.D. Va., and Cal. Sup. Ct. He is also familiar with European litigation and IP. John has been selected as a San Diego Super Lawyer by his peers since 2007. In 2006, he was voted as one of the “Top Attorneys” in Intellectual Property Litigation in survey conducted by the San Diego Daily Transcript. He is listed in the 2010 Super Lawyers Corporate Counsel Edition, and was selected by his peers for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America 2015.
