Intellectual property litigator Johnny C. Chiu is a partner located in Perkins Coie’s Beijing and Washington, D.C. offices. Johnny works with major Asian technology companies, defending and protecting their patents in federal court and at the International Trade Commission (ITC). His clients’ industry sectors include computer, communications and consumer electronics. Johnny advises companies on patent, trade secret, IP licensing and related matters.

Johnny represents numerous companies based in Asia, including in China and Taiwan, with U.S. patent disputes and litigation. Additionally, Johnny guides international businesses seeking to create and operate U.S. subsidiaries or affiliates on compliance to U.S. regulations and strategic approaches to establishing these new entities.

His patent litigation experience, which includes Section 337 patent cases, spans a range of technologies, such as electronic imaging, integrated circuits and chipsets, DRAM semiconductors and flash memory devices.
