Former IRS senior trial attorney, Jon Feldhammer, successfully resolves complex tax controversies for clients before the IRS, California Franchise Tax Board (FTB) and other state agencies. Jon represents clients at every stage of a tax dispute, including Examination, Appeals and in litigation. Jon advises clients on tax compliance issues and assists corporations, partnerships and individuals in navigating the challenging tax environments involving income, estate and gift, employment and international tax issues.
Jon formulates efficient and successful resolutions to international and domestic tax controversies. He also advises clients on complying with new tax rules and on correcting improperly reported transactions such as offshore arrangements, navigating the Offshore Voluntary Disclosure Program (OVDP) or other IRS programs. When proactive compliance measures are not possible, Jon litigates matters before the U.S. District Court, U.S. Tax Court and California Superior Court.
Prior to entering private practice, Jon served as a tax litigator with the IRS, where he advised IRS personnel during audits and collection, and litigated more than a dozen cases in the United States Tax Court.
