Jonathan Hardt practices in the intellectual property section in the firm’s Austin office, focusing primarily on patent litigation and strategic counseling. Mr. Hardt has represented clients through all phases of litigation in federal court, including appeal, and also has experience in proceedings before the International Trade Commission, Federal Trade Commission, and various state courts.
Mr. Hardt joined the firm in 2016. He was previously a counsel in the intellectual property litigation practice group at an international firm in Washington DC. Mr. Hardt clerked for the Hon. David Folsom in the Eastern District of Texas from 2006 to 2007. Mr. Hardt received his J.D. summa cum laude in 2006 from St. Mary’s University School of Law. Mr. Hardt received his B.A. cum laude from St. Mary’s University in 2002 as an honors program graduate. He is a member of the Texas and District of Columbia bars and is admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, and the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas.

Mr. Hardt’s practice focuses primarily on patent matters, and he has experience in all aspects of patent litigation, including case preparation, fact and expert discovery, trial, and appeal. Mr. Hardt has litigated patents in a variety of fields, including telecommunications, computer software, mobile devices, and biopharmaceuticals. He has handled multiple matters involving standard-essential cellular patents.
