Jonathan M. Harris concentrates his practice in all areas of intellectual property law. He focuses on assisting clients with developing and managing their patent portfolios, including the preparation and prosecution of patents, the preparation of legal opinions, freedom-to-use analysis, license agreements, and general counseling regarding various intellectual property issues.
Mr. Harris' patent prosecution practice has focused largely on drafting and prosecuting patent applications in the electrical and software arts, including areas such as personal and server computer systems, cloud technologies, microprocessor architecture, embedded controllers, telecommunication systems, medical devices, and semiconductor devices.
Mr. Harris served as an electrical engineer for the space program prior to attending law school. He received a B.S. in electrical engineering from the University of Texas as well as a M.S. in electrical engineering and a MBA from the University of Houston. While earning his J.D. at South Texas College of Law, Mr. Harris served as an editor for the South Texas Law Review.
