Joe Hatina focuses his practice on the representation of private equity funds, private companies, emerging growth companies, and entrepreneurs. He has extensive experience in leveraged buyout/venture capital transactions, financial and corporate restructurings, debt and equity financings, mergers and acquisitions, and general corporate counseling. In addition, Joe advises biotechnology and emerging growth companies on securing and protecting intellectual property rights, forming joint ventures and strategic alliances, and engaging in technology transfer and commercialization of intellectual property activities. He also advises clients on matters relating to the regulation of political activity and compliance issues under the Federal Election Campaign Act.

The clients with which Joe has worked include Dorilton Capital, Draper Triangle Ventures, Early Stage Partners, Foxconn, Francisco Partners, Grey Mountain Partners, High Road Capital Partners, Industrial Growth Partners, JumpStart, Kirtland Capital Partners, Morgenthaler Partners, Rockwood Equity Partners, and The Riverside Company. He also acts as the primary point of contact for dozens of portfolio companies of various private equity funds.

Joe is a member of the Ohio State Bar Association, the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association, and the Cleveland Bridge Builders Class of 2005. He also acts as pro bono counsel to Minds Matter of Cleveland, a not-for-profit organization that helps broaden academic opportunities for high-achieving high school students from low-income families.
