Joseph G. Passaic Jr

Joe Passaic is a partner in the Corporate and Finance practice and is resident in the firm’s Washington, D.C., office. He advises domestic and international clients on a wide range of corporate, securities and bank regulatory matters, including regulatory applications, supervisory and enforcement proceedings, investigations, risk management and governance. He has extensive experience leading major capital markets transactions, public offerings, private placements, corporate restructurings, asset dispositions and mergers and acquisitions, with emphasis in the financial services industry.

Mr. Passaic counsels financial intermediaries, including financial institutions and specialty finance, fintech, insurance, investment banking, and real estate companies. He also advises multinational corporations on their corporate operations, business activities and regulatory issues in the United States.

Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Passaic was a partner at a major international law firm and before that at a Washington, D.C., law firm specializing in financial services. Prior to entering private practice, he served as senior attorney in the Legal Division of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation in the Division of Liquidation dealing with distressed and failed financial institutions.

Mr. Passaic has lectured at various financial institution seminars, served on the editorial board of the Banking Law Report and coauthored a banking treatise titled “Banking Law in the United States.” Mr. Passaic has also taught business and commercial law as adjunct professor at Georgetown University.
