Joseph S. Luchini

Joe’s practice for the past 33 years had focused upon all aspects of commercial litigation and dispute resolution. He has placed an emphasis in his practice on construction and real property issues, such as contract disputes, mechanics’ liens, title and boundary disputes, and other related development matters. His practice includes representation of owners, general contractors, subcontractors, and bonding companies in both state and federal courts and before arbitration panels.

Joe has been involved in a co-first chair capacity in one of the most complex construction cases in Virginia. Over the course of several years he represented a joint venture contractor in a dispute with a public authority. Resolution of the numerous disputes that had accrued over a seven year construction period required four jury trials (one extending over four months) and three trips to the Virginia Supreme Court. He has arbitrated numerous matters, including one lasting four weeks and over 100 separate claims. Joe has other extensive commercial trial experience involving non-construction business disputes.

Joe’s legal experience began with a 5 ½ year stint in the Judge Advocate General’s office of the U.S. Air Force and included over 100 courts martial and countless administrative hearings. After receiving his honorable discharge in 1979. Joe began his civilian legal career in Fairfax, Virginia. He served on the Board of the Virginia Construction Law section of the Bar and also as its Chairman. Joe has been chosen for inclusion in the 2011 and 2012 Washington DC Super Lawyers list, the 2012 Virginia Legal Elite and is rated by Martindale (AV). Over the years he has written and lectured extensively on construction related topics.
