Josh McLane is an attorney in the Chicago office of Kirkland & Ellis LLP. His practice focuses on the tax aspects of complex business transactions and reorganizations, including mergers and acquisitions, bankruptcy restructurings, fund formation, and real estate transactions.
He also advises non-profit organizations on formation and qualification for tax-exempt status, as well as best practices in non-profit governance.
Josh received his J.D., cum laude, from the J. Reuben Clark Law School at Brigham Young University and was a member of the BYU Law Review.
During law school, he was an associate at University Venture Fund, where he worked on multiple investment and value-add projects. After graduation, Josh helped launch the Tipping Bucket, a crowd-funding platform that uses social media and social networks to generate micro-donations for development-oriented projects. Prior to law school, he was a senior tax accountant with Deloitte in its Costa Mesa office.
Josh is a member of the California and Illinois State Bars.
