Julie Brown defends and investigates toxic tort and product liability claims on behalf of Fortune 500 companies, closely held corporations, and individuals in Illinois and Missouri – including the counties of Madison, McLean, and St. Clair – and the city of St. Louis.

Julie manages a caseload of more than 500 asbestos-related cases in five Midwestern jurisdictions from initial responsive pleading through settlement. She conducts depositions of plaintiffs, fact witnesses, and experts and performs factual investigations to further defense strategy, including reviewing voluminous document collections, witness research, and records searches. She also has significant experience drafting dispositive motions, appellate briefs, and writs of mandamus and prohibition.

For two years following law school, Julie was a judicial law clerk for a justice on the Illinois Court of Appeals, Fifth District. In addition to honing her legal researching and writing, her clerkship taught her valuable critical thinking skills, as well as the necessity of preserving appealable issues, presenting a thorough record on appeal, and the importance of the appellate standard of review.

Julie and her husband reside in St. Louis County. In their free time, they like to run, scuba dive, and try to teach their old dog new tricks.
