K. Patrick Meehan

K. Patrick Meehan is a partner in Holland & Knight's Tampa office. He practices in the areas of data privacy and security, mergers and acquisitions, corporate, finance, healthcare and general business law, with special emphasis on transactions involving telecommunications and technology companies. Mr. Meehan represents companies involved in various industries, including healthcare, contract manufacturing, real estate development, fiber optics, information technology, software, mobile telephone, cable television, radio and television broadcasting, technology and the Internet on matters relating to compliance with federal and state law, major contracts, domestic and international merger and acquisitions, private equity and debt transactions, intellectual property licensing and general business.

Mr. Meehan represents companies involved in substantial merger and acquisition transactions in the telecommunications industry. Such transactions have included: the purchase and sale of numerous radio and television broadcast stations, cable television systems and cellular telephone businesses for Palmer Communications Incorporated and Palmer Wireless, Inc.; the purchase and sale of cellular telephone systems and cellular telephone subscribers for Price Communications Corporation and a variety other transactions for clients in many industries. Mr. Meehan has also assisted clients in substantial senior and subordinated debt transactions and venture capital financings.

Prior to joining Holland & Knight, Mr. Meehan was vice president and general counsel of Palmer Wireless, Inc., a cellular telephone company serving the southeastern United States. Palmer Wireless, Inc. was traded on the NASDAQ. Mr. Meehan also served as general counsel to Price Communications Corporation subsidiary, Price Communications Wireless, Inc. until joining Holland & Knight in January, 1999. Mr. Meehan was a member of the State Caucus of the Cellular Telephone Industry Association, representing the views of wireless telecommunications carriers before legislatures and regulatory agencies.

Mr. Meehan was a member of the Catholic University Law Review and a graduate of the Institute for Communications Law Studies at Catholic University. Prior to attending law school, Mr. Meehan was an anchorman and reporter for CBS affiliate KMEG-TV in Sioux City, Iowa.
